Post 416 loses one of its truly greats.
Harold Krueger, a well known and greatly appreciated member of Greendale American Legion Post 416, passed away on August 24, 2016. For those who have not met him, Harold is the original designer of the Veterans Memorial which is slated to be built in the Village of Greendale. Harold designed several veterans memorials in other communities in the United States. Today these memorials stand solid and proudly for all to see. He was dedicated to the building of the Greendale Veterans Memorial by drawing up its design on paper. He modified it several times according to various additional needs and finally he built a model of it, which is on display in the Firing Squad Bay at Post 416. This is where the members of the Veterans Memorial board meet every month. We are proud and thankful that the memorial was designed by one of our very own members. It has added meaning to why The American Legion exists and what we do. Harold's legacy will live on and his work will stand tall and proud in Greendale,Wisconsin for many years to come. Thank you Harold for all you have done.
